My Heart’s In The Bonfire - Lewes Bonfire Night Celebrations
November 3, 2013 at 2:06 pm by BadScooter1980!
My heart’s in the Bonfire, my brain does not care;
My heart’s in the Bonfire a-chasing the flare;
A-chasing the red-flare, and following the drum,
My heart’s in the Bonfire wherever I bum.
Warm Welcome to Lewes, Farewell to elsewheres,
The birth-place of Bonfire,The small town that dares;
Wherever I wander, Wherever I rove,
The hills of the Bonfire for ever I love.
My heart’s in the Bonfire, my brain does not care;
My heart’s in the Bonfire a-chasing the flare;
A-chasing the red-flare, and following the drum,
My heart’s in the Bonfire wherever I bum.
Welcome to the chalk pits high covered with snow;
Welcome to the bournes and green valleys below;
Welcome to the twittens and wild-hanging woods;
Welcome to the torrents and loud-pouring floods.
My heart’s in the Bonfire, my brain does not care;
My heart’s in the Bonfire a-chasing the flare;
A-chasing the red-flare, and following the drum,
My heart’s in the Bonfire wherever I bummmmmm.
