The Lewes Bonfire Night Celebrations starts about 5.00 pm and continues through to about 1 am for the hardcore bonfire boyes and belles.
It consists of the Cliffe Bonfire Society, Commercial Square Bonfire Society, Lewes Borough Bonfire Society, South Street Bonfire Society, Southover Bonfire Society and the Waterloo Bonfire Society all with their own celebration, processions, bonfires, tabs, set pieces, effigies and firework displays in various parts of the town.
The centre of town is definitely not suitable for young children especially those in prams or pushchairs or those that suffer from agoraphobia or wearing fur coats!
