Horsebridge Mill Hailsham - Lewes Bonfire Night Celebrations

This Grade Two Listed old flour mill was built circa 1900, but its history is sketchy, there was a fire between 1908 and 1910, when the mill was rebuilt as a large roller mill, McDougall’s had a hand in it at some point in the past and the the last owner is listed as the Mill Precision Engineers, who occupied the the newer buildings opposite. “Unique refurbishment and new development opportunity (4.19 acres) with consent for Mixed Residential and Commercial use. The site has planning consent for restoration and conservation of the historic McDougall’s Flour Mill to 6 x 1 bed and 6 x 2 bed flats and the construction of new residential accommodation, including 9 x 2 bed flats and 4 x affordable riverside apartments.
The scheme will also see the remodeling of the existing commercial premises to provide 10 x B1 workshop units totaling 1,158 sq metres (13,400 sq ft). A car club with vehicle must be provided as part of the planning consent and there are, in addition, 25 residents’ parking spaces, 4 visitors’ spaces and 30 car spaces for the workshop units.
