Lewes Bonfire Charities - Lewes Bonfire Night Celebrations

All monies collected on the night in the boxes by the charity collection boyes and belles during the Lewes Bonfire Night Celebrations, is distributed amongst the bonfire society chosen charities, none of it goes to any of the bonfire societies.
All of the Lewes Bonfire Societies raise funds for the fifth of november celebrations by organising fund raising events throughout the year, they receive no external funding whatsoever, the costumes which can cost upwards of £300 which is paid for out of the bonfire society member`s pocket.
The Fireworks – £10,000 and more, Insurance – £5,000, Torches – £1,000, Paraffin – £500, Bands – £2,000, and that’s just a start for one bonfire society.
So if you decide to free-load and gatecrash our Lewes Bonfire Night Celebrations on november the 5th, the least you can do is, throw lots of money in our bonfire charity collection boxes for our chosen charities.
You never know what is round the corner and you might be grateful for one of the charity services one day, but I sincerely hope that you do not, but please still donate.
Below is a list of charities that the bonfire society boyes and belles will be collecting for during the Lewes Bonfire Night Celebrations. As far as I am aware, all charity names are there, apologies if I have missed any.
St John Ambulance, The Fire Fighter`s Charity, Rocking Horse, Lewes District YMCA, Salvation Army, Southover Monday Club, Lewes Priory Trust, Soldiers Off The Street, East Sussex Wildlife Rescue And Ambulance Service (WRAS), Oyster Project and lastly but not least, the Royal British Legion.
