Bonfire Poem - Lewes Bonfire Night Celebrations
July 29, 2011 at 11:17 pm by v
Fireworks light up the dark Sussex skies
Flaming Banner ablaze, a magnificent sight
Costumes of many brighten up the march
to the sound of the Pipe Band and
the Banging of Drums.
Whizzing Fireworks take to the sky
Rockets explode red, silver and white
“Yes we are Firle and We Do It Right”
Guy Fawkes, Guy Fawkes, who was that man
Caught with a Burning Match in hand
Only one thing left to do
Top of the Bonfire we go with you
“Burn Him” the crowd shout out
“Burn Him” until he`s crispy and black
Along with his Gunpowder,
Lantern and Burning Match!
