Silverlands St Peter’s Hospital - Lewes Bonfire Night Celebrations
January 25, 2015 at 12:19 am by v
Silverlands in Surrey was once an Actors Orphanage and Nurse Training School within the grounds of St Peter’s Hospital in Chertsey, The History is that it is was built as a private house, then the building was used as a war hospital in the First World war.
Then from 1938 it was the home of the Actors’ Orphanage for “destitute children of actors and actresses” and later became a nurses’ training school for St Peter’s Hospital. The oak architecture in the staircase is amazing.
The lift or elevator was interesting as well but with me having problems with my new camera and only having about 15mins into the visit before the security man popped in. These few pics are all you are going to get.
